North Berwick or Dunbar

hey guys. I am relocating from Ireland to East Lothian and I am looking for any info or advice on where is the best place to live with a 13 year old boy. We are very creative and love the outdoors and community is very important to us. I have heard that Dunbar is friendlier but that N.Berwick High school is great. I parent alone and although I am a professional I have found, looking online, that rents in N.B are crazy! I am Scottish, from the Highlands, and after 8 years in Ireland it is time to move home to be near family (my brother lives in Edinburgh but I aint a city gal). Any info and/or advice would be sooooo gratefully recieved. We hope to move in December when my contract at work finishes, if anyone has any info on properties to rent that would be a bonus!! Slan, Leigh

Personally I would probably pick North Berwick over Dunbar but it does get very busy in the summer, especially when the sun comes out. The road to Dunbar would be easier if you were doing any kind of regular commute and you would get more house for your money. It doesn't get the tourists North Berwick does but does have nice harbour, beach nearby, restaurants and pool.
