Hi,
I'm looking to move to Norwich soon with my husband and little boy who is 2. We're not far away at the moment but want to be closer as my husband works in the city center.

Anyway I digress, are there any areas that I should be avoiding? I want to be withing walking distance of the city center as I don't drive. Currently I like Thorpe Hamlet, I think, but can't find anything to rent there. Keep seeing places in Silver Street but doesn't look that nice on Google Maps. Ideally I love Trowse but can never find anything there either! I'm not in a hurry, I want to be in Norwich before my little one starts nursery in September.

Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks in advance Grin

You wouldn't want to walk from Trowse into city centre, not that nice from Thorpe either.

Hi, I'd recommend the Golden Triangle, especially around the Unthank Rd area. Rents are slightly higher but you have everything you could need on your doorstep - good schools, a full range of shops and frequent bus service if you don't feel like walking into the city. It's only a 10 to 20 minute walk in anyway, depending on where you choose. I've lived in the area most of my adult life and happily brought my two up here. Tried moving out but felt isolated and missed the community spirit. Good luck in your search.
