Hi all we are looking into moving to Frant nr TW and would love to pick anyone's brains about schools in that area. Both primary (Frant school only has 4 classes how do you get in??) and secondary (keen on Uplands but not sure if would be in catchment area?). Can anyone possibly help? Its all new to us and a bit overwhelming!Thx

Evening Loz

I asked around on Twitter and was given a couple of suggestions:

  • head over to @lambslarder and pick Peter's brains

  • give the school office a ring and talk to them about catchment areas etc.

Hope that's a bit helpful!

Hi there,

We were faced with similar woes a year ago. It's a great idea to give Frant school office a call to discuss catchment areas as with every school, these often change. We are in Mark Cross, the next hamlet along and have only ever heard great things about Frant primary school. We too have a village school which is even smaller and the admissions criteria is strict but if you live within the catchment area I think it's pretty likely you will get in as the nearest schools to you will be Wadhurst and Mark Cross who are already oversubscribed.

With regards to Uplands, again because the secondary schools are so few and far between in this area they seem to cover quite a wide catchment area.

Frant is a great place to live, pretty rural but with TWells and links to London on your doorstep.

All the best, I'm sure you won't regret your move!

Thanks so much for your replies. I am a twitter virgin but will investigate!
We are going for a second viewing at the weekend so will give schools a call on Monday if we are going for it. Thanks again x
