I am a mum of 2, currently living at Stevenage and considering to move to a bigger place. i have recently viewed properties at stotfold and biggleswade but don't know much of the areas. Please any ideas on schooling in stotfold or biggleswade?

Thanks

Stotfold is very quiet! Are you looking at the new estates (eg fairfield park) or the older part of the town? Primary schools are great - but will become over subscribed in the next few years. The middle school is improving but hit and miss. The upper school is in Clifton, but getting a reputation as one of the best upper schools around here.

So good for schools generally, but you do have to go to Hitchin / Letchworth for any kind of life.

hope that helps.

stats thanks for the feedback. it surely does help. yes, I am looking at the new development at greenacres by taylor wimpey but was hoping for a area that has good primary and secondary schools. would you rate biggleswade better school wise?

That would be Roecroft primary which is fab. Bedfordshire is a 3 school system, so Samuel Whitbread is where they go for exams so I think all in all not a bad place to go. Just Etonbury (middle) that needs a bit of work, but it's getting there.

i don't know Biggleswade at all sorry!

You would be lucky in the term of schools. Eatonbury is improving now it is on partnership with Robert Bloomfield (a brilliant school) based in Shefford. You Have Henlow Academy another brilliant school around the corner.
The Upper school in Clifton, Samuel Whitbread is fantastic. Really helped my son to pass all his exams but also nurtured him it a fine young man.

I hear mixed review about Biggleswade but my dc don't go there so I would be unable to comment.

I moved from Stevenage too, about 8 years ago. Best thing I ever did!
