Hi,

I'm new to the Pinhoe area and am keen to go along to one of the local mother and baby/toddler groups but find it a bit daunting facing a new group of people alone. I'm sure I cant be only one who feels this way so, if you're also new to the area (or if you're not and would like to make a newbie feel welcome) and fancy making it a team effort please contact me and we could take it from there?

Many thanks

Hi Autumn,

I'm not particularly new to the area (I've lived in Poltimore for two years now), but I'm a first time mum with a 13 week old little girl so I know it can be daunting to go to these groups :-) I'd be happy to make it a team effort and meet up before going to any groups.

Hi Becky,

Thank you very much for your reply, I really appreciate ii.Congratulations on your little girl - how are you finding your new found parenthood?

Its funny, just after posting on her yesterday I plucked up the courage to approach a Mum at the local clinic and we exchanged numbers and hope to attend a Mum and baby group together next week (like us, she said she was little nervous as well). That group is next Tuesday but there's another held here on Thursdays. Perhaps that's one we could attend together - unless there is one nearer to you that you fancy giving a go? My daughter is 7 months old and so its probably easier for me to travel than you at the moment, what with all of the paraphenalia babies need when they're tiny!!

Perhaps have a think about it and get back to me and we can take it from there if you like?

Thanks once again for getting back to me!

Marie

Hi Marie

Parenthood has been bit of a learning curve but our daughter is generally very good, so she's eased us in :-)

The Thursday group sounds good - where exactly is it held?

I'm pleased to hear you've been treated gently by your daughter! The group is held between 9.30am and 11.30am at America Hall in Pinhoe.

Next Tuesday will be my first attendance and so I'm not sure what to expect. The general feel I get (from looking at the info that's available online and the photos that are up on the wall in the Hall) suggests its well attended and friendly. I'm pretty sure that as well as the usual toddler activities, there's a baby area as well - so the little ones are protected from the older ones tearing around on their bikes etc:-)
