schools in South Leyton

Hello everyone. we live in Leyton near the Orient football ground. My child is due to start school in September 2014. does anyone have any experience of primary schools in the area? Our nearest schools are Wilowbrook and Riverley - both of which have recently been in special measures. I think Newport and Sybourn are also not too far away. any advice or comments would be really helpful.
Many thanks

Dawlish is a great school, although the catchment area is small. I would recommend the school to anyone!!

Thanks everyone for your comments. Whatsisname, we spoke to Dawlish but they indicated we're probably a bit far away(wrong side of the high street) to get in as it's small with only two form entry, even though it's our nearest school. We've looked at Newport, Willowbrook and Riverley. They all seemed like nice places. Riverley appeals as it's a bit smaller but we're going to apply for all of those four schools. Keithroad, is there anything in particular that you like about Riverley? They are becoming an academy and I wonder whether you think the changes have had an impact on your son's experience at school and learning?
Thanks again.

I realise this thread is a few years old, but I am just doing some research on these schools as we are thinking about moving there. Did you have any thoughts on these?
