Bermondsey Street Mammas!

Sosolouise1 · 21/08/2013 22:51

I'm a 32-year-old first time mum with a 3-month-old daughter looking for a local mothers group in or around Bermondsey Street.
Is there something like this already happening? Weekly coffee / lunchy meet-ups? I'd love to track down some Bermondsey Street Mammas to hang out with once a week or so.
Also, can anyone recommend any mother and baby classes in the SE1 neighbourhood? Baby Yoga, Baby Massage, Parent and Baby Cinema ... etc.
Any tips much appreciated
Thanks
xxSophie

Hi Sophie,
I live in Peckham and I am 32 too with a first baby boy 3 months old.
I open a dance group for mummies and babies in september to have fun and meet other mums in the area. Maybe you could join us ??
The information is on the website : www.bailamama.sitew.org.uk
I hope to have the pleasure to meet with you very soon,
Xs AnGlo

Hiya Sophie,

Welcome to motherhood. My daughter is now nearly 7 months and I have just started to work out what groups are where!

So here is pretty much what I have come across in the SE1 area, all either walking distance or a 15minute bus ride from Bermondsey street. I don't know of any arranged meet ups for coffee, I still just hang a bit with my NCT mates or people I meet at playgroups etc. Hope this helps

Local meet ups include

Bumps and Babes in Del Aziz in Bermondsey Square (but usually younger babies there) Tuesday 2-4pm,

and the one I would recommend as lots of mummies go is at the Refinery in Bankside Wednesdays 10-12.

I've also met lots of mums at Milkspot breastfeeding meet up, very relaxed for both mum and babies, at Coin St neighbourhood centre again Wednesdays 10-12; I just go to hang out sometimes rather than for midwife's advice.

There's also a new meet up on Fridays from 2.30 I think at Bermondsey Village Hall.

These should at least give you a lead into anything else happening in the area (of which there are lots!).
