Moving to Chelmsford

We are hoping to move to Chelmsford in the new year from Surrey. I have 2 children, aged 2 and ten months, with another one expected in 2014.
I am looking for advice on the best places to live in and around Chelmsford, catchment areas for best schools, the best nurseries etc.

I've just taken over as Local Editor for Chelmsford and was wondering how you are getting on with your planned move?

I love Chelmsford and have lived here for 10 years avoid the Melbourne area like the plague I have lived in Springfield and chelmer. Village areas both of which I have loved am currently in the Springfield area I have no children as of yet I am during May and can not wait hope your move goes well
