A getting-out-the-living-room support thread anyone?!

I have two under two and getting out the living room is bloody hard most days.

Anyone have any good ideas of where to go and what to do for a bit of structure?

Could you get your two children into a childminder or nursery for one day per week? Perhaps something like 10-2pm or 10-3pm. This would allow you a day off and to do a few things for yourself and perhaps meet friends for coffee? I know some mums don;t like to feel they are 'palming off' their children but one day per week is not bad. It will give you that little bit of freedom and give you a chance to go into town or something.

It has been many years since I had two under two, they are now 26 and 27, but I remember it well. My advice would be to keep it very simple, don't be ambitious. Go out in the morning if possible so you can bask in knowledge for the rest of the day that you 'have been out'. Think of any outing as a huge achievement, keep it short. Chalking on the ground on a cycle path just up the road from me and having a biscuit out was a favourite activity for weeks on end in my life!
