Mothers: Is your baby 5-8 months old?

Are you interested in a research study that may help you feel better?

Oxford Postnatal Treatment (OPT) Study

The University of Oxford is conducting a research study looking at how best to help mothers who are depressed.
We know that one therapy for depression, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), is very helpful to people in dealing with their negative thoughts and feelings. In our study we are trying to find out if offering CBT together with some further psychological therapy may be especially helpful for mothers in the postnatal period.
We visit people in their own homes to provide the therapy, at a time convenient to them, on a number of occasions, starting when their baby is around 6 months old.
For more information, please ask your GP or Health Visitor or contact us directly. We would be happy to explain the study in more detail without you being under any obligation to take part.
