Barnt Green Station

Someone told me how they take their two toddlers on the train to Barnt Green Station and picnic at the foot of the Lickey Hills.

It sounds idyllic, but how easy is it. (sorry, question mark doesn't work!)

How far is it to walk out of the village, and can you push a pram...or would I need to heft DS3 around in a backpack.

Would love some advice from those who know!

Yes it really is easy, ONCE you've got out of the station. From Brum direction you will need to go over the whole bridge but once on the road, you should see the path leading up the avenue of trees. At the top, cross the lane and in to the woods where you can play 'til your heart is content. You can loop through the woods, following paths, to appear back at the pub, before heading back to the train, AGAIN, back over the bridge, but only half way.

As a family without a car its a great way to feel out in the country. We have managed with a pram but it can be tricky if muddy. Bluebells in spring were stunning!
