Anyone working for a charity, fundraising or other area, and living in the Bournemouth/Poole area?

We are considering moving to the area, but are unsure about work opportunities for the both of us? Any advice about where to look? Websites?

Also, what are good parts of the area to live?
Good schools, nice community etc

Hi ScandinavianMummy

The 2 charities I can think of are the RNLI in Poole and Autism Wessex which is in Christchurch.

They usually advertise jobs on the reed.co.uk website and bournemouthecho.co.uk.

The area is lovely. I personally would avoid Boscombe to live in but Southbourne, Christchurch, Wimborne, Alum Chine, Ashley Cross are nice. It depends on your budget and whether you would like to be near the beach or the countryside or the forest!

Primary schools are becoming very oversubscribed in the area so you may have to buy close to the school within catchment to get in to your preferred choice.

Any other questions and I'll do my best to help.

I'm in Christchurch. If you drive, commuting is fine. There is the typical rush hour traffic that you get everywhere but nothing like a city in rush hour.

If you don't drive then you will probably spend a lot of time on a bus in the morning and evening if you live outside of Bournemouth and Poole. The trains are usually quite good as far as I know.
