Basingstoke public schools

Hi all,
We just moved to Basingstoke (to be precise in Chineham) and am currently looking for a school place for my daughter for Year1.

We tried in Four Lanes which comes in our catchment area, and not surprisingly there were no spaces left. We come #3 in the waiting list, but this being quite a popular school I have no hope.

The other schools we called up and who have confirmed spaces were South View Infant school and Merton Infant School. They do have 'Good' Ofsted rating but I would like to know from moms in these local areas, how you all would fare these schools, and which one would be slightly better than the other.

We are working parents, and therefore we are more inclined to schools who would have some after school care clubs as well.

Please advise.

My sister in law has kids in Merton, the moved there part way through the last year and seem to have settled really well. They have a breakfast club, not sure about after school, I'll ask her.
