Hi

I just wanted to let everyone know of this great competition, which is open to all ages. We're looking for photographs of wildlife and nature, from animals to plants to hills and rivers, with the chance for winners in seven different categories and two different age groups (0-15yrs 11mnths & 16 +) to get their pics exhibited in the museum for 6 months from Jan next year.
This might be a good incentive for any mums/ kids with a passion for photography to get out in the summer holidays and take some pictures of animals/ scenery/ the beautiful county of Yorkshire. The deadline is 27 Sept so it might help pass those long summer weeks for both parties! Plus it's a great excuse to get outside, provided this lovely weather holds up.

Details on how to enter plus applications are here:

The flickr page (where entries can be easily uploaded without the need for application forms/ posting things off etc.) is here:

All the very best of luck,
Pat

PS also while i'm about it, we have a great new exhibition which is all about the works of children's author Anthony Browne, free entry, opens tomorrow (19 July), on til January. We will be holding regular storytelling sessions of Anthony Browne's books every tuesday & thursday 10.30-11, see here for details:
