which baby groups are a must in henleaze?

We're moving to henleaze and don't really know anyone there. I am eager to make friends and go out and about to places around that area which are child friendly as I will be working part time.

Any suggestions where people have met friendly mums. So far I ve not had much luck, people have been friendly enough but quite cleeky and seem, like they aren't interested in anyone joining their established group.

There's a good playgroup at the Church hall on North View on Tuesday mornings. £2 for tea/coffee and biscuits, lots of good toys and a sing song at the end. 10am-11:45. It's just finished for the summer but is starting again the first Tuesday of September. It's mainly friendly regulars, so you'll definitely meet people.

A bit further afield but Cairns Road Church in Westbury Park has a good play cafe on Mondays and (I think) Thursdays - check their website.

Not sure if you know the rest of Bristol, but other good places are the Zoo (get membership if you can, it's much cheaper), Millenium Square for a splash in the fountains, Portico Play behind Gloucester Road, MShed and the city museum for rainy days.
