There are plenty of opportunities to volunteer at The Foxton Centre. You can volunteer regularly, occasionally or even just once a year! You can be involved in face to face work or help behind the scenes.
Currently we are taking volunteers for:
Kidz Club Rough Sleeper Outreach
ATR Youth Club Green Fingers Allotment*
Community Cafe Streetlink Outreach
Befriending
If you are interested in helping us but don?t want to commit to regular volunteering, why not donate an hour or two of your expertise? There are many skills we could utilise if given the opportunity!
Training: The volunteer training covers topics such as: Getting to know the Foxton Centre; Working Safely, Understanding Homelessness; Communication and team building skills. The training usually takes place over five evenings and we pay travel expenses and provide food. The training is informal and fun and lead by our own staff. It?s a great way to get to know people and to begin to find out where you fit in.
Christmas: We especially need more people to help out over the Christmas and New Year period when we try to stay open when other services are closed. This can be a difficult time for homeless and vulnerable people as they feel they miss out on what others are enjoying, and of course it?s a cold time of year and a long way from spring time and that makes life more difficult for many.
