Second time (or third time) mums- and dads- to be near Cholsey?

Hi I have a little girl who is 17 months old and recently found out that I am 10 week pregnant. As we are new to Cholsey we were looking into joining an antenatal class to get to know others but found out that NCT does not currently offer refresher course in the area. As their antenatal class is more geared towards first time parents and in the evening meaning that we can't both attend (obviously don't want to leave the little one at home!) we are not able to participate. I wonder if anyone is in similar boat and would like to get in touch to share the experience with pregnancy for the second (or third or fourth) time and bringing up more than one child at a time. I am certainly a bit daunted by the thoughts of having two to feed and entertain!

I am not exactly near Cholsey - but not too far away either. Live in a village just outside Abingdon. But I have two DC, a fourteen month gap between them. It was a massive shock to me when I found out I was pregnant again so can understand where you are coming from. My littlest one is 7 months now, and I am still alive!
Feel free to PM me if you like.

Thanks MissTriangle for the reply. I can do with the moral support. Would be nice to get some tips off you some time. :)
May sound like a silly question but how does one PM somebody?

Ha ha, I don't know! I only really use the app and there is a symbol next to each post, if you click on it then it gives you the option to PM someone. But I don't know how to do it off the main site. Ill PM you and you can then reply if you like :-)

Hi laimama - I'm actually quite close to Cholsey and have a little one the same age as you. I'm not expecting, but if you wanted to meet some people I can highly recommend the baby and toddler groups in the area - many of the mums with toddlers are expecting their second babies now.

here's some of the options available (might be some more in the listings so do check them out)

  • Monday, Masonic Hall Wallingford, 9.30-11. Pop in and Play. Free.
  • Tuesday, Baptist Church, Thame Street Wallingford, 10-11.30. Free
  • Wednesday, Methodist Church, Wallingford town centre, 9.30-11. £1
  • Thursday, St Lawrence Hall, Cholsey 10-11.30 (I think) £1.50 (I think)
  • Friday, Ridgeway Community Church, Wallingford, 10-11.30. £1

Just turn up and start chatting - it's a really friendly bunch round here. If you want to PM me I could even arrange to meet you and introduce you to some mums. (If you're on the computer there should be a 'message poster' link to the far right of my name at the top of this post)

laimama,
I am in a very similar situation. I moved to Cholsey last year and have a 21 month old and am now pregnant again. I would love another pregnant mummy to go through the ups and downs with as I don't have many friends that live in the area.

CrowmarshGibbon · 06/08/2013 08:20

Would anybody be up for meet up? Happy to arrange one if so - would an afternoon with small people or an evening with no children be preferable?

laimama · 08/08/2013 20:17

Hello Pigtailprincess and CrowmarshGibbon, it would be fantastic to meet up other mums in the area (pregnant or not). Not fuss whether afternoon or evening.
I have not been to any toddler groups but have been to a couple of music/movement classes in the village (I work Tuesday to Thursday). Unfortunately with the summer holiday most of these classes are not running. Do you know if the toddler's groups are still on during the holiday period?

a lot of toddler groups aren't, but the Monday and Friday ones in Wallingford are. hth

Thanks CrowmarshGibbon, was going to try the group this Monday but little one was poorly. Will give it a go next week. May see you there.
