WANTED: playdates for Mondays and Fridays

Oh dear, this sounds like a lonely hearts ad!

Anyway: one mum, GSOH (cos you have to when you have kids), with 3.5 yr DS and 1 yr DD, WLTM other mums for sanity saving get-togethers on Mondays and Fridays. Likes cheap outdoors stuff, baking, painting etc.

DS is a bit "sensitive" so doesn't cope well with noisy busy environments like soft play Sad

If that hasn't put you off totally....

Oh, should have said - am willing to travel (have car and am used to commuting!)

Hi,
Im in St Ives and have a 3.5 year old Ds and a 9 month old DD. I work on Mondays but free Fridays. I don't drive though which is a bit of a pain. We like to walk to Houghton, visit Hillrise park, or do 10 pin bowling (£3.50 for a family on Friday mornings). Whereabouts are you? X

Crocvillagemum · 25/06/2013 12:04

Hi toriv! I think we've spoken on other freds. We're just north of Wyton airfield and regularly go to Houghton Mill (one of DS's favourite places, though that may be the cheese scones in the cafe!) Haven't been to Hillrise Park yet but it's on my list of possibilities.

Oooh can I join in? We're moving to St Ives at the end of July and both my daughter (2.5) and I need to make new buddies and find lots to do in the area. We'll be free most days unless I'm redecorating or trying to get a job- eek! We also love cheap things (!) and love making and mostly eating cake :)

Crocvillagemum · 28/06/2013 19:35

Please do nic. DS and I make a mean gingerbread man!

Shall we start with a park date (weather dependent) in St Ives one Friday then? I can do the 12th or 26th. Anyone else?

Crocvillagemum · 30/06/2013 22:01

I can do either of those.

Thanks! Ooh I'm so nervous about moving, am glad to think about socialising... :)
Have fun at the park!

Toriv · 02/07/2013 20:22

Right shall we go for the 12th then at Hillrise park in St Ives. Any preference on time? Anyone else?

CambridgeMinor · 04/07/2013 18:30

Can't do the 12th, but have fun :)

Crocvillagemum · 04/07/2013 21:35

12th it is. No real preference as to time, but would prefer morning as DD still really needs her afternoon nap. Say 10.30ish? And is there anywhere to grab a coffee/Fruit Shoot? Grin I've only ever driven past Hillrise Park.

Hmm. Thinking about it, it is only a big park with a little wooded bit. Maybe we should be kind to ourselves and go for a coffee (read cake) in town instead. There's a park right by town we can get the little people have a run around in afterwards. What do you think?

Crocvillagemum · 09/07/2013 21:38

Sounds a good plan!

Bollox - have bumps on Fridays otherwise I'd cone along. Can do Tuesday's though :)

MrsA03 · 09/07/2013 22:04

Sorry meant Monday's! :)

Toriv · 09/07/2013 22:29

Oh and 10.30 is good for me. Taproom or Costa?

Crocvillagemum · 10/07/2013 07:10

Costa - DS is fond of the babychino! How far away is the park? I know from bitter experience that DS will do a sit-down protest if it's too far (in his eyes, that is), the lazy lump, but I can bring the sling and try to shoehorn DD into it so he can have the pushchair.

Crocvillagemum · 10/07/2013 07:12

Mrs, I could do next Mon?

OP posts:
Toriv · 11/07/2013 08:14

Right Costa at 10.30 then. Park is about 5 minutes (though i too will have the carrier incase of emergencies!). See you there.x

Crocvillagemum · 11/07/2013 11:01

Excellent, see you there!

Monday 15th Hitchingbrooke Country Park? I know SterlingCooperDraperPryce is available too :)

Toriv · 12/07/2013 08:01

Arrghh. I have no idea what they are feeding the little ones at nursery but they both have really upset tummies this morning. Really sorry but don't think i can risk an outing, it could be messy! Apologies again for the short notice.x

Crocvillagemum · 12/07/2013 08:08

Ok, no problem! Best not to risk it, indeed.

OP posts:
Crocvillagemum · 23/07/2013 11:32

Hi Toriv. How are your littl'uns' tummies? Thank goodness for this cooler weather!
