Basingstoke swimming class recommendation needed

Hello,

I wondered if anyone could recommend good swimming lessons local to basingstoke? It's for my non swimming 3yo DD and ideally need it to be the weekend.

I'd really like a recommendation for somewhere good but not too expensive...any one got any suggestions?

Thanks!

My dd goes to The Sports Centre, she has lessons on Sun evening, they run at lots of times over the weekend but some classes will have a wait list. The Aquadrome also do classes. Not sure on costs I'm afraid.

Thanks! What are the average size of the classes there?

She's in a group of 4, instructor is lovely. Overton pool is open all summer to children, they do lessons on Sat over summer but not sure of minimum age, open to those living in Overton and outlying villages..

I had no idea Overton had a pool! Will definitely have to check it out.

Have emailed sports centre and aquadrone but nothing back yet. Really like the idea of a small class as she has been a bit hit and miss with her confidence swimming so I think that would suit her better.

Thanks!

It's in the primary school, but open evenings and Saturdays and afternoons in the holidays

Mine (6 & 4) go to the Sports Centre too, although we live in town so it's a no brainer. What I will say is that I find the classes really badly organised. I had no idea there were even levels for the first year as they never had any leaflets or information for parents, it was just sign up and off they go Confused.

The Sports Centre never reply to my e-mails either so I always have to pop in and ask. I kind of suck it up as they are slowly learning to swim but their customer service drives me up the wall.

If they do have classes in town then they also get free entry to the pools the rest of the time. It works out quite well for us as I'm a member of the sports centre so we never have to pay extra to swim.

The DC's pay £23 a month. I think the direct debit comes out 11 months a year (nothing in August).

Thanks martines, love the name btw! No one has got back to my emails/phone messages so wonder if the (lack of) organisation might get a bit annoying for me.

I've seen flyers for Kim Chapman swimming lessons at QMC but they are a bit more (£7.50 per lesson ish) and wondered if they're any good. Just thought might be worth it until she's build up a bit if confidence. Money well spent or am I being sucked in to something that won't make much difference!?!

I'm sure there's lessons at Cranbourne school too, or there used to be anyway.

Hello to Everyone on this link.
Just wanted to update everyone with a positive review for the Swimming Lessons at Basingstoke Sports Centre ….. since these posts appeared quite a few years ago now, the Swim School has undergone a complete re-evaluation on the Learn To Swim Programme, which is now run, and continues to run, smoothly and proficiently, with a great Swimming Teacher Team in place, along with an incredibly efficient Swim School Administration Team, ready to answer any questions you may have regarding both children's and adults swimming lessons. Please do give the Swim School a call or pop into our Reception area for further information. With thanks from the SWIM SCHOOL at BASINGSTOKE SPORTS CENTRE.
