We are possibly moving to Wimborne Minster later on this year but have no idea what the town is like.....help! Anyone know it? Is it a good place for a young family? Does it get very busy in the summer? What do you know about it?!

Wimborne is great a real market town with fab schools and beautiful surroundings, shops, rivers, countryside churches and museams... but not too big. Love it

Hey! We wanted to move to Wimborne as it looks and sounds lovely from what people have told us :) Have also heard it's got schools....
However we struggled to find a property to rent initially in our price range so are moving to Blandford this week!!! Hoping to pop over to Wimborne though as have noticed a few groups that happen there such as NCT and music groups.

We moved to Wimborne a couple of years ago (after a lot of research!) and really love it here. Really great for the children, lots of toddler groups in and around Wimborne and great schools. I've made lots of new friends as a result. I've set up a pay-as-you go music group www.whirlygiggles.com in the Wimborne area and we have lots of wonderful families coming to that.

There's lots of family events in the town throughout the year too. Folk Festival, Pancake race, Duck race, Children's Parade etc. So yes, recommended as a family-friendly town!
