I am writing this on behalf of my father who is going out to Kenya in September to assist a local community in the village of Mitito Andei to build a Sand Dam. He has already paid for his flights, (which is his contribution along with taking two weeks leave), and is trying to raise funds for the remaining cost of the trip.

A Sand Dam is a structure across a seasonal river bed that can store up to 20 million litres of water giving the local community access to a continuous clean water source all year round. This also allows the surrounding vegetation to flourish from the rise in the water table providing fertile soils for crop growing and tree planting. Because the community now have access to a local clean water source women and children do not need to walk for hours every day to collect water and this allows the children to attend school and get an education and communities can grow enough food to feed their families and provide income for basics like medicine and school fees.

The event is being held on 31st August and we are at the currently looking for prizes for the raffle and looking for anybody who would be willing to donate to this good cause. If it is from a business we would also be happy to advertise the company name against the donation.

Any help would be hugely appreciated.
