Commuter-friendly childcare - Chesham/Berkhamsted?

Have found a house we like (just outside Chesham) and our offer has been accepted. Hurrah! I?m not taking anything for granted until we have the keys in our hands. However, I will need to start thinking about possible childcare options asap.

I will be commuting in to the city three days a week, probably from Berkhamsted, and will need childcare from 7.30am to 6.30pm. I work 9-5 and my husband, also commuting to the city, works highly erratic hours and isn?t able to do drop offs or pickups with any regularity. Are we going to have to get a nanny/childminder or are there any nurseries that cater for this sort of timing?

My son is currently in (and loving) a local Montessori nursery and really enjoys the interaction (read: charging around like a lunatic) with other kids. He has two days a week of just me and two with me and my husband, so I?d like his three days of childcare to include time with other little people.

We?re also going to need some new friends when (if) we move, so if anyone out there (amersham/chesham/berko) has similar aged little people (he?s nearly two) please do get in touch!

Thanks in advance for any help/advice.
