Please allow me to draw your attention to the current plight of Deanes school in Thundersley. It is a successful school rated 'Good with outstanding aspects'. For the past 5 years it has had the promise of rebuild, to the point they had drawn up the plans and discussed plug sockets. Suddenly this has been withdrawn and it faces closure. 800 children will need to be relocated. The school sports center and its provisions to the local community are also threatened. Now, no matter your feelings on the school, the surrounding schools from Southend to Canvey, Rayleigh and Basildon suffer from over subscription. The knock on effect of closing a good school will be felt far and wide. I urge you to consider this and show support to the school. Public consultation begins on 10th June, with a meeting for the community at the school on 26th June at 7.30pm. Please sign the petition and show your support for not just this school but the entire community of children that will be effected. Thank you.
