We are moving back to the UK (from the US)within the next year and need to think about which secondary school will suit our son. We will be mov g back in time for him to start senior school. He has adhd and mild aspergers which basically means he has a hard time making friends and focussing in class. Our experience is that we need a nurturing, caring school that will support him with social situations and help him focus in class and get organized. We can pretty much move back to any area in Sussex or Brighton and will do that for the right school for him and would love to hear from any parents with experience of these issues in the secondary schools in this area. We are open to state or public, although we will struggle to make the public school fees but we will if it is the right place for him. We have experienced unhappy school years in the past for him and can not face going through that again. Can anyone help???

Hi, I can recommend Northease Manor, Lewis. They specialize in supporting children who have high functioning ASD/Dyslexia/ect There support, in my own experience, has been tailored to meet individual needs in areas such as Speech and Language, Emotion and Behaviour, Occupational Therapy ect. Please look at their web site. They have always welcomed parent enquiries. I am a parent myself and cannot believe my own child's progress in accessing the national curriculum. It has been amazing. The down side, is that there will be some staff changes in September- If a school with this extent of commitment and expertise from the professionals are working within it, then they will continue to seek professional progression and will be snapped up by other specialist schools elsewhere. Sad but true.

I have heard better things about Frewen. You have to ask yourself: why the turnover?
