Hello all

Has anyone recently moved to Staplehurst, Kent or surrounding villages? We are thinking of moving from London to Staplehurst, we have a 2 yo daughter and I'd like to hear others' experiences of living in the area

thanks

We've moved to Ashford a while ago. Yes the area is prone to flooding. Depends where though.

Hi @Hasanyoneseenthecattoday. When visited the property we bought in Staplehurst, it was during the floods. I think it was beginning of 2014 because we bought later that year. We struggled to get to the property from London because almost all neighbouring villages were flooded. However, Staplehurst was not. It was also on a main road rather than some of those really narrow country roads that tend to get flooding (like some of the ones near a Marden property we were also visiting). I don't have the definitive answer, but at the time, the fact that Staplehurst seemed to have withstood the flooding, at least the properties near the main road, put our minds at ease.

Hi all mummies, we are planning to move to new house in Marden in January 2022. So we would need a rent home from this August 2020.
If you know any home available for To Let please let us know.
Many thanks!

Hi, I’ve not known Staplehurst to flood (although don’t quote me). I’ve got friends there who like living there. It’s just got a useful new Sainsbury.

Marden is a nice village also. There is a proposal to build 2000 homes in Marden, but I think that’s been stopped now. Maybe worth checking.

What age school do you need?
