Any mums in Wyton, Houghton, The Hemmingfords who would be interested in arranging a meet up? I have a 8 week old and 2yo and am in Wyton.

Hello Toffee,

Not a long shot, there are a few of us close by. I'm in Sawtry. We've had a couple of meet-ups recently in Brampton and one somewhere else. I can't remember- Johnson's, was it?

Anyway, You Are Not Alone Grin It's about time we had another meet up. Which days are good for you?

Crocvillagemum · 16/05/2013 09:34

You are definitely not alone. I'm just north of Wyton airfield Grin and have a 3.25 year old and an 11 month old. I can only do Mondays or Fridays as I'm back at work now but don't let that influence your choice of meet-up days!

ToffeeTeapot · 17/05/2013 07:13

Oh wow didn't expect replies so quick! Nice to know there are "others" in the area! I'm free most days during the week however must point out that I don't drive so am bus reliant.

I remember the other meet now, it was at G&L. I think that's on a bus route.

Crocvillagemum · 17/05/2013 08:51

Or would St Ives or even Huntingdon be better?

ToffeeTeapot · 26/05/2013 22:21

Sorry for lack of reply, baby DS had first jabs this week and I had a hellish few days! I can get into St Ives and agree that Huntingdon is shuddersome. There's not much else on the bus route I don't think?

croc I'm probably fairly close to you as live in Wyton on the Hill as opposed to village Wyton, which used to be part of Wyton airfield.

I can probably see your house from here Grin Hope baby DS is feeling better.

The Italian in Hunts, next to the church, is pretty good for lunch. But otherwise I tend to avoid unless I need something from Mothercare. The Golden Lion in St Ives is ok for lunches and and is spacious enough for pushchairs to not cause a diplomatic incident. (Though they're a bit funny about kids being there outside mealtimes, so just coffee might be tricky.) Anywhere else? Tap Room is ok too but not very spacious for a pushchair posse.

ToffeeTeapot · 13/06/2013 10:51

Argh sorry again for not replying, RL keeps getting in the way of my MNetting! Is the not so great with kids place in St Ives the one next to the church? Don't they have a kids welcome after 12 rule which could work?

Also was wondering if anyone would be up for a toddlers cake and bake? We used to do one in my old town. Basically you take it in turns to have mums plus toddlers round and do basic baking, make lots of mess and then eat whatever is edible! Great fun and relaxed. I rent so don't have nice curtains but have space and multiple toddler chairs ad tables and would be really up for giving it a go if anyone's interested? We used to contribute 50p to cover cost of ingredients and bring along extra bowls and messy clothes.

Yup, that's the one (Golden Lion that is). I think they're fine with kids who are having a meal - which is why I thought just coffee might be problematic.

Toddler Bake sounds terrifying fun! I have a reasonable amount of space and non-posh furnishings, so I'd be happy to be on the hosting rota. Though my oven is a bit buggered so everything might end up cremated Grin

ToffeeTeapot · 13/06/2013 20:53

Hmm there isn't really anywhere else in St Ives that'd be multiple buggy friendly is there?

Toddler bake is terrifying but fun at the same time!! We just need a few more people to get on board and we could organise the first one and see how it goes!
