St Albans - buying a house

Hello all,

We are looking at buying a house in St Albans and could do with some advice. Our elder one goes to Cunningham Hill school and younger one is just over one year old at the moment.

We have a budget of £400k (ish) and looking for a 3 bed semi/end of terrace. We would like to be within a mile of a station and close to a good primary school (Aboyne Lodge, Bernard's Heath, Cunningham Hill, Maple).

Any views on Culver Road/Heath Road please?

Any particular roads/areas we should be avoiding? Sorry, dont want to offend anyone here but we have so far got Batchwoods, New Greens, Drakes Drive, Cell Barnes lane and parts of Hatfield Road on our list to avoid. This is based on school requirements, distance to station and some of them being not-so-popular.

Thank you..

So you want to avoid living in the very road on which the very good school your elder child already attends, due to its 'unpopularity'? With whom? And who does he/she go to school with then?

400 is not quite enough for a 3 bed in a fab road - I think you will need to be very openminded!

Culver road/ Heath road are nice but parking can be a problem.
