The dog and Duck in Outwood is nice on a sunny day. The play area is just a slide, however...

My suggestions are

  1. Polesden Lacey estate www.nationaltrust.org.uk/polesden-lacey/eating-and-shopping/restaurant/ which has good "home" cooking using local produce and a courtyard setting, with plenty to amuse the children during the morning and/or afternoon.

  2. www.thecricketersdownside.co.uk/ The Cricketers in Downside is also lovely on a sunny Sunday as it opens onto the common, which has play areas for older and younger children within sight of the outdoor tables.

Merry Harriers at Hambledon, great garden with play area and Llamas in the field next door!

If the weather is nice The Black Swan in Ockham is fab, they have a small enclosed playground, giant Jenga, other outside toys, swinging chairs and they used to get giant beanbags out too. They also have a BBQ outside as well as a lovely inside menu. Its not cheap but it is lovely.

Great inside too on a cold day.

Seconded. Oh how that's changed since its starring role as the inside of the Slaughtered Lamb from American Werewolf in London www.british-film-locations.com/scene-2t/American-Werewolf-In-London-1981! The woods between it and the A3 were the ones that David runs through in one of his first nights as a werewolf
