Hello,

Does anyone have their kids at, or know anyting about Tockington Manor School? I would appreciate feedback about this school (whether good or not so good) as we are considering this school for our kiddies.

Many thanks!

My daughter attended their nursery and pre school for a year or so and I was generally very pleased with the care and education she received whilst there. I have friend's who kept their children there for Reception and they are happy with their decision and continue to be pleased with the school. The class sizes are small and I think that there is only 1 class per year group. The school definitely gets smaller after year 6 as most day children will move onto secondary schools in Bristol at 11. There is obviously a boarding element further up the school which can mean friends can be widespread. One reason I decided not to keep my daughter there was because once they reached Key stage 2 they had to stay in school until 6pm each day to do activities/homework etc. I preferred a day school, where I could collect at 3.40pm and spend some time with my children - but had after school care should I need it. If however you work long hours it could be a benefit to you.
It is certainly in a beautiful setting, with lovely facilities and my friends have only positive things to say about their child's experience so far.

There will be a new headmaster from Sept. Grounds are lovely - historically a boys school. Non-selective. Nursery is very good. Music I hear has improved.
