Highover School, Hitchin

Hi...anyone know anything about Highover school in Hitchin? We are moving to Hitchin and are looking at properties near that school. I was hoping for Samuel Lucas for our DD (she's only one so not quite yet - we have time!) but properties around there are a bit too pricey for our budget. Don't know much about Highover. Anyone have kids there? What's it like? Thanks in advance.

Hi there, Highover has a good reputation. It's larger than some of the other schools in Hitchin but I've only heard good things and have friends with children there who are very happy.

Reception places have just been offered (yesterday) for 2013 so you should take a look at this doc to see the furthest distance from the school the last place was offered this year as it will give you an idea of how close you need to be to be in catchment.

This year Highover had a lot of applications and if you didn't live less than 994m from the school then you weren't offered a place. I know quite a few people who had put it down and didn't get it.
