Flats on U1 and U6

My daughter and her chef boyfriend are moving to Southampton in September, and they will need to rent a small flat that is in a good position for Luke to get resturant work and Emily to easily get to the main uni campus, as well as the NOC. A property on the U1or U6 route would be best and with a parking space so it is easy for us visit. What areas of Southampton do we avoid, ie I heard about an area near Ocean Village was known for escorts! Please help as I don't know where to start. Thank you

Just seen this.....With the area your mentioning Id say avoid St Marys (v near to town centre). Its cheaper but there is a reason! Maybe look at shirley (make sure its train station end)/freemantle/polygon (student central) as this is 5/10 minute walk to train station where both buses go through andf a 10/15 min walk to city centre, west quay etc.

Obviously highfield would be perfect for your daughter but will probs be quite a bit more expensive due to the uni and not sure how successful your be with parking....

I'm from Southampton and am probs about your daughters age if shes going to uni here - feel free to ask any questions (pm if you would like)
