New schools for Newcastle?

Would you like to see a new school in Newcastle?

Groups of parents, teachers and charities can now apply to the Department for Education for permission to set up new schools, free from local authority control. These are called Free Schools. They are free to attend, non-selective and have flexibility about how they use their budget.

New Schools Network (NSN) is an independent charity that provides advice and support to help anyone who wants to apply to set up Free Schools. We are holding a FREE event in Newcastle on 11th and 12th April. There will be a chance to receive some training on what makes a successful Free School application and learn more about the application process. You can also apply for a 1-2-1 surgery with a member of our team to discuss your ideas in more detail.

You can register for the remaining free places at the event at docs.google.com/a/newschoolsnetwork.org/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dGV6VVRVRnFnOW9iR2dLZDd5LVBwY3c6MQ#gid=0. NSN will be meeting with interested parties across the two days but you only need to register for one of them.

There's also more information available at www.newschoolsnetwork.org/events.
