Moving to Clapham/Brixton area SW2, nurseries and tips about the area please

Hello,
Moving to SW2 with dp and ds. My ds is 2.5 years old. I was wondering if anyone know's about nurseries in SW2 and towards Clapham Junction?

What should I know about the local area etc? Any advice is welcome.

I'm completely new to Lambeth and will not know anyone!

Hi - The best nursery in SW2 I think is Effra Early Learning Centre which is a sure start nursery. Its on Effra Parade between Brixton and Herne Hill. It has had an outstanding rating for the last 2 years but its very competitive to get in and there is a waiting list. They do great drop in classes on a mon and weds - stay and play which are great for kids and loads of local mums attend. Other great things for kids is Brixton rec softplay and Brockewell park - the children's playground there is amazing ... hope that helps. The only other nurseries I looked at were Dulwich way but again very hard to get into. There is also a shortage of primary school places in SW2 so research your catchment area carefully.
