Best Secondary for Music in Tedd/Twick?

Can anyone help? Not all the schools seem to break down the GCSE results into enough detail to make a decision. DD will undoubtedly have tuition outside school too, but which music department is the most committed/inspirational? Does anyone have any experience which would help? We're thinking Waldegrave at the moment, but could easily be swayed.

If you have a choice, you are lucky in that area - in a few roads you may have choice between Waldegrave and Teddington, or Waldegrave and Orleans Park, but not all three.

It sounds like your DC is not yet in year 6, otherwise you would have accepted an offer today. When you go to the open days most of the schools give detailed results for Music and if they don't, they can certainly fill you in if you visit.

I believe St Richard Reynolds will have a specialism in Music. But if you are not Catholic, they prioritise Catholics from outside Richmond over local pupils.

Thanks, but St RR isn't an option for various reasons!

I don't know much about the other schools but Teddington has a very well respected teacher called Mr Cragg who has won awards and seems good at encouraging children to perform in choirs and jazz band.

Thank you! That might be exactly the sort of thing that would swing it.

Hi NotatallSnootie. Turing House will have a music specialism too.

Fingers crossed it gets the go ahead. Smile
