Scout clubs in Lewisham

Well my first post ever on mumsnet, so please be kind /emo/te/1.gif !

Does anyone know out of experience or reputation a good scout club in the Lewisham / Greenwich / Blackheath / Lee / Eltham area for an eleven year old son?

He likes outdoor learning-based activities and I think he will enjoy the occasional camping trip. I am fairly indifferent to the religious inclination it may or may not have, more important is the spirit of being part of a team and the sense of shared experience.

I would love to hear from you if you have/had children who enjoy(ed) their time.

They meet at St. Michaels on Pond Road (Blackheath), there might be a waiting list though

Thanks for the info ThatScrotumCat. I think St Michaels is the largest in the
area together with the club hosted at the Millenium school.

I was wondering if anyone has had their kids sent at either and whether they could recommend any of the clubs?
