Schooling - how to work out my child's start age.

Hello, I was looking at some nursery schools and I'm a bit confused about the age my child can start at.
If they say 3-5 years, does it mean the child has to be 3 years by that September or can my child enter if she will turn 3 in that school year?
My daughter was born in Jan 2011.
Thanks!
B.

I would assume that she would start only when she s 3 or older

In merton, if you are applying for nursery places at nurseries attached to schools your child would start at the beginning of the term after they turn 3. For your daughter this would be start of the Easter term around April 2014. There aren't always many places for the start of this term, but places would become available in September 2014 if not. This is usually a morning or afternon place, 3 hours a day.

Your child will start school in the September of the school year that they turn 5, so for your daughter this would be September 2015.

This page here has links to what you need to know, and when you need to apply.

I hope that makes sense!
