Things to do in Oxford with 8 month old - Short visit

Hello There,

We will be in Oxford for Mon / Tues of next week. I am looking for ideas / suggestions for things myself & DS (8 months) can do to entertain us whilst DH is at a conference during the day.

Museums are probably your best bet, especially if LO is good at sitting in a buggy or a sling a lot! Unfortunately there's not a lot of places in central Oxford which are friendly for a small child to crawl about it LO is mobile.

The Natural History museum is closed in 2013
The Pitt Rivers has an eclectic anthropological collection
The Ashmolean is the art museum
Modern Art Oxford
The Museum of the History of Science

Er... Shopping? Hopefully the weather will be a bit less crap!

I'd add the hot houses at the Botanic gardens (entry is free in the winter months).
And the library is a great place to retreat to for lounging on beanbags and reading.
