Living in Coalville

Hi, we are looking at maybe moving to Coalville but I can't find anything good said about it. Every thing I have read is a couple of years old so I was hoping things have had time to change and the place is now on the up.

Any comments on the place, good or bad, would be much appreciated. Also any info on which schools to aim for or avoid.

The move is not definite yet but the house prices there seem really good. A bit too good maybe.

Hello I don't live far from Coalville and although the town centre is a bit dire there is plenty of nice housing all within easy reach of some beautiful countryside so not too bad. Some of the nearby villages are really pretty and Ashby about 4 miles away is a lovely market town. Think most of the primary schools are good but the 14 + school King Edward doesn't have very good GCSE results. Might be worth looking at catchment boundaries for the Ashby secondary schools if you move as some Coalville area villages go to Ibstock And then Ashby school but houses there are still reasonably priced. Watch out for the new HR2 line though its going to be very close to Ashby and some of the villages! Good luck.
