Possibly relocating to Aberdeen area

Hi, we might be relocating from Hertfordshire up to Aberdeen and I'm looking for recommendations for places to live, schools etc. My OH would be based at the airport so a nice easy commute would be good although we probably don't want to live in central Aberdeen itself. We've got two little ones; a 5 year old boy and a 3 year old girl so need pointers for primary school and nurseries (we're very lucky in that they're both in an OFSTED Outstanding primary school and nursery at the moment). Looking on the web, Inverurie looks very nice and similar to where we live now? Thanks very much!

Depends on your budget really.

Have a look at ASPC website for most of the houses for sale - it's a good way to see what's available.

Most towns round Aberdeen are good, but transport links can be a little dodgy - what looks good on paper may be chaotic in rush hour; we discounted Inverurie based on that alone, although the town itself is really nice.

Stonehaven is a really lovely town. Arduthie primary school is excellent. Good links to Aberdeen too (15 mins on train).

Jane - are thinking state school or private? Where are you thinking of living - Aberdeen city, suburbs, or country?
