I have got three children at Clifton College, they all started in Butcombe nursery and have had fantastic experiences at the school. They have made some great friends, we as parents have also met some lovely parents, who are now great friends.
It is a very happy school, with small class sizes (max 17) and a good ratio of boys to girls, my 6 year old has 6 girls and 8 boys in her class. They have great facilities they swim every week, play tag rugby, football, hockey etc and have a huge choice of after school activities from Zoo club to Christmas crafts! (all free of charge!).
The teachers are all very friendly and you do feel that you gain a close understanding of what they are doing in class from the regular open book mornings and afternoons, when you can go in to see your child's work. They work the children hard, but along the way get to visit some great places relating to their topics eg Westonbirt to look at the 'changes' Autumn brings. Last month they were learning about The Great Fire of London and had to replicate how the fire started in the Bakery, so each had to make Tudor houses (one lucky person got to make the bakery!), from shoe boxes which they then set alight at Forest School.
They also have a great 'Butcombe Network', which is run by a group of Mum's and Dad's who organise the Christmas Fair, Book Fair, Ball etc.
The other great thing the school has to offer is the After School Care facility, my kids have never moaned about going to ASC! They can choose to have a hot meal, use computers, make models, watch movies, arts and crafts etc.
All in all I feel Clifton College has a fantastic range of facilities, great working environment, lovely happy children and great facilities for working parents, both before work, you can drop off at 8am with no charge, and collect up until 6pm. I hope I get to meet you, as my daughter is also 6!
