Anyone like to sit with me?

Well, it's kinda quiet around here isnt it! I'm in Newcastle and happy to meet up for coffee and a chat with any local mums in need of support/friendship/a shoulder to cry on etc. Just as happy to chat online anonymously as well if you like.

I have one DD and unfortunately have experience of DV, EA (now left XP though and happily married) and lone parenting.

Anyone care to join me sitting on the bench?

I'll join you on the bench.

I'm in Newcastle too. I have two sons, with an awkward 9 year age gap (they're now 3 and 12). I work in a city about 100 miles away (but can work at home a lot of the time) but it makes making friends tough. You don't meet many people sitting in front of a computer in your own house!

Can I join too? Just moved to the area and have a 3 year old (almost) who is delightful, sadly have had 2 MC this year once shortly after moving here. I would love to hook up and have playdates/parkdates etc.

I'd love to join too. I'm also in Newcastle.
I have a big gap too, 20 months and 17 years, so would love to meet other mums with little ones.

Hello, can I sit with you too? I have a 13month old and a five year old. I live in Newcastle and would love to meet / chat with other mums.

Oh sorry, just returned to this and found you all sitting here without me Grin

Hi all! My DD is 15 so I don't have any littlys.

4Characters, I work from home too and know what you mean about making friends. I also find as my DD gets older, it's hard because you don't have the toddlers groups/coffee mornings/school meet-ups etc Sad

Lovely weather we're having today in Newcastle....if you're a polar bear! I'm sat in my office watching the snow out of the window, and wishing it was bed time!

I've never really had any of the toddler group things. I had DS1 very young and really didn't fancy being ostracised in the toddler groups in the village where I lived at the time. Then I went back to university FT and no one else had children. I've since moved several times and there's so little opportunity for 'mummy type' socialising when you have an older child (and work FT).

I was going to do the toddler group thing with DS2 but we lived in the most unfriendly place ever and it was completely impossible. The local groups were full of people who'd known each other since school and clearly didn't want any new friends.

I've had enough of winter now. I think it's time for warmer weather now.

Hi I've just started as editor for Newcastle. Hopefully we will be able to get this place a little bit more lively, so that its a bit of a squish parking your bum on this bench.
Looking forward to chatting and maybe getting to meet some of you in the future. Smile
