evenings out in Winchester

Hello Ladies
Can you tell me what Winchester is like at night? Is there anything fun to do? Is it at all social? Or is it totally dead by the time the weekend comes around in the evenings? Are there any fun bars with a bit of atmosphere? Should say for someone who is nearly 40, not a student or teenager or early 20s. Thanks for replying if you do :) x

A bit late, but if you are still interested... I really like the black bottle wine bar. It's a bit of fun, you put money on a card and serve your own wine from a vending machine. It's a nice place to linger over an expensive glass of wine whilst you chat.
