flooding in teddington

sorry, still getting used to this site. I'm considering buying a ground floor flat in teddington, on the twickenham road near grove gardens. It's very near the river, can anybody give any comments on the flooding risk. Does the river overflow ever cross over the twickenham road and flood homes? any info gratefully received

I have lived in three houses in Teddington and SH over the last ten years all on or just off Twickenham Road and have never seen the flood water come up and across the road. I have seen some of the houses on the river side have the water come right up their gardens to the houses, but don't remember seeing any further flooding than that. Hope that reassures!
