great day out gardens?

DH's latest obsession is all matters garden.

It's his birthday coming up - I fancy a day out at a garden centre so he can dribble over dahlias.

Anyone got a recommendation? Something not Dobbies?

Botanic gardens are brilliant and free

The cafe's both serve good food too

Is the garden centre at Hopetoun House still there? You could combine it with a visit to Craigies Farm if so.

Dirleton castle near north Berwick has lovely gardens and the village is pretty too, particularly the churchyard.
