Hello,

I'm looking to move to BS, I wanted to know about the primary schools in and around BS, this will be important in our decision whether or not to move to BS. I would be grateful for a personal opinion. I like the idea of a village school which is very personalised and individual and not fixed in its teaching and learning I.e following every government regulation, which I believe can be very regimented. I am Catholic and bringing up my daughter as Catholic, so I am particulary interested in Catholic schools.

Thank you in advance for any help,

Hi there,

As a new mum and a local teacher for the past 6 years in Bishop's Stortford, I'd like to say that we are really lucky here -there are some truly excellent schools in Bishop's Stortford. There is St Joseph's which is the local Catholic primary school which I admittedly do not know much about (but have been told is good), and also St Mary's which is a Catholic secondary school just down the road from St Joseph's. I would also highly recommend Summercroft Primary School - excellent teaching, Headteacher and facilities. Summercroft is very child-focused and creative.

Good luck with your decision!
