New to HD8 area - looking to meet up

Hallo! We've just moved to Emley from down south and I'm looking to meet up with other mums in the HD8 area. I have a 19-month-old DS and a newbie on the way, due mid-November. If anyone knows of any regular meet-ups or good toddler groups, we'd love to come along and join in as we don't know anybody in the area yet. Hope to hear from you all :)

Tumble Tots classes are held at Denby Dale on a Friday morning, and at other places on other days.

Hi, I'm in Scissett and have a 4 yo DS and a 10 month old DD. If you sign up with the Surestart Children's Centre in Denby Dale or Grange Moor, then they'll send you out a leaflet of their activities - there's an under 2s group on Monday mornings at DD - this is where I met most of my friends a few years ago.

There's also a well attended Mums and Toddlers group on Tuesdays 9.45-11.15 at St Aidan's church.

Toddlers also at the URC Church in Clayton West on Friday mornings - 9.30ish.

Aquababes sessions at Scissett Baths on Fridays at 10am, but it's a bit chilly, so I take mine to the brilliant Nick's Little Nippers sessions at the Barnsley Metrodome instead (various times throughout week).

I have lived in HD8 now for nearly 8 years and still feel like a newbe, which is getting worse since i had my DS nearly 12 months ago and my old life is moving on without me.
I am 37 and should anyone be having a meet i would love to see you all.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Only just got the broadband up and running since moving here so am back on the internet again, thank goodness :)
I've been along to a toddler group at Shepley Methodist Church on a Thursday morning at 930 that was very well organised. Will definitely sign up to the Surestart Centre in DD and try and come along to a couple of the groups mentioned. Nick's Little Nippers sounds fun once number two has arrived, as don't fancy squeezing into my swimsuit until then. Scary stuff!!
