parking in brighton

hello, family have just come to visit us by car. Can you advice me where could we park the car when going to the seaside, I've seen that all the parking space are for parking permit and/or paying metre. Is there any area that is free? I do not mind to walk a little bit. Where about in hove near the lagoon? Usually I do walk from preston park to anywhere but my mum is not very well so we could do with a lift. thanks so much

you could do a park and ride - or park down hove and get the bus up

you can park for free in Saltdean, it's only down the road.

Parking in Wish Road is free and nonresident apart from 10-11a.m. so need to arrive after that - Wish Road is off the seafront opposite Hove lagoon playground. Also other roads around there.

hello, many thanks for all your replies, very helpful information. What about when visiting places like brighton pier or brighton shopping centre (churchil square), any chance of free parking?again do not mind walking a bit.thanks a lot

I don't know of anything free near there, sorry. I reckon the nearest roads are probably Hanover - Albion Hill and roads off there, is more than a kilometre, less than a mile. But if your mum's not well, will she be able to walk that far, also up a steep a hill? Have you thought about dropping everyone off e.g. at the Pier then going to park the car alone and catching up with them?
