English course for au pair

ConfusedInTheCity · 17/08/2012 20:24

We've found a lovely German au pair who is joining us at the start of September. She's keen to find an English language course, but most of those I've found online have been too many hours (she'd like to do up to about 10 hours a week) and therefore far too expensive.

I've found two so far that she'd be able to afford - Cambridge Regional College and ABC - but both are the other side of Cambridge from us. We'll be living on Long Road, at the Hills Road end, so ideally it would be good to find a course nearer.

We're not moving up to Cambridge ourselves until the end of August, so I'd be very grateful for any advice on where is good and not too expensive for language courses. What do other au pairs do?

Many thanks

Cambridge Regional College would be fairly easy to reach of you needed to go there. She would just have to get on the guided bus in town and it pulls up right outside the college. Hope that helps.

My au pairs have used the language school at the Stone Yard Centre in Regent St and also Hills Road Adult Education. Not expensive.

Thanks for the tips. I'd forgotten about the guided bus - that should be quite handy!
