Nurseries

Anyone know any nurseries in Edinburgh- preferably north who are enrolling - I need to get my 1 yr old into one 3 days a week ASAP. Any ideas appreciated thanks!

The best thing to do is call round and see who has vacancies. A lot may be loosing preschoolers to school this week but they may already have allocated their baby places. It may be an idea to check out childminders too incase you can't find anyone.

When I worked in a private nursery, we often had calls from parents looking for immediate starts and as my boss was friends with lots of other owned nurseries, she often was able to give out who may have a space.

I don't know if they have spaces but I can reecommend Crewe Road Nursery - excellent, caring & lovely staff!

Ps. don't be put off by the building - they are getting a new one built soon!

Is Cramond too far out for you? Little Monkeys have opened a branch there. We use another of their branches and love it. I also have two friends who use Bright Horizons there and are v happy with it.

Also the nursery that was in the Royal Victpria grounds (? Orchard Brae nursery) has moved now I think but gets a great name. I would avoid the Barnton one on Queensferry Road.
