Experience of Trafalgar School?

My DD has just been offered a place in Yr 1 at Trafalgar Infants. While I am frankly ecstatic to be offered anything, I have reservations about the Junior School. This is mainly based on their Ofsted report, where they only got a Satisfactory overall. I am aware that it is not all about the Ofsted, so I would be really grateful if anyone has any experiences of this school (good or bad!).

Thank you!

What I can say is that a school that has previously had a good reputation, that has recently been given a Satisfactory grading (in an area with a high proportion of parents with ambition and high expectations) will be doing it's very best to improve! So you can bet it won't be going downhill in the next few years.

It's friendly and has a warm atmosphere, but it was a little disorganised and lacking in leadership when my DD was there - but Richmond upon Thames is very proud of its excellent primary schools so I am sure a lot of resources are being thrown at Trafalgar to help it up its game.

My DS has just finished Y6 there, don't think they've been published yet but they have had the best SATS results in years after investing a lot of time and resources improving standards after the Ofsted results. Undoubtedly the leadership isn't as strong in the Juniors compared to the Infants but the teachers are very good and many outstanding. It's a very happy school with a lovely ethos and the children leave with lots of happy memories and enjoy their time there. My eldest is in Y11 but still goes to the summer fair every year to catch up with teachers and old schoolfriends! Happy to answer any more questions you may have!
